Critical Appraisal – Making Sense of Research Evidence (Trainer: Alison Hill)

24.11.15 CANCELLED – EVENT TO BE RESCHEDULED:  DATE TO BE ADVISED

Critical appraisal is the process of carefully and systematically reviewing research to judge its trustworthiness, and its value and relevance in a particular context. This workshop uses teaching methods devised by the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme which has a long track record in helping people find and make sense of the scientific literature.

The aim of this workshop is to develop your skills in appraising research on different study types, and refresh your understanding of different research methodologies. In this one day workshop we will review a randomised controlled trial, a systematic review and a case control study.

This course is aimed at public health students, practitioners, specialist, CCG commissioners, clinicians and practitioners in primary, community and hospital settings, and CCG commissioners.
